I am highly qualified with degrees in both Architecture and Town Planning, specialising in heritage restoration, modern residential design and property development. This unusual combination gives me a broad and balanced perspective on development and Council matters.
Councillor Sandy Wilkinson is a young professional, elected to Council in 2007, qualified in architecture and planning. He has a small design practice, ALEXANDER WILKINSON DESIGN, originally based in the East End, now in North Adelaide, aptly on the corner of Old and New Streets. This practice specialises in heritage restoration, private residential design and property development.
Sandy is a former City Council planner and Heritage Consultant, from which, he has rare insight into the range of Council functions, now having served on Council, even more so. Sandy is long known for his passion about Council issues, development and heritage in particular.
Sandy lives with his wife, Robyn and two small children in a Local Heritage house, in North Adelaide, with modern additions, which he designed, that epitomise his approach to architecture and City Planning, getting the best out of the old with the new in an environmentally sustainable way.
Sandy has long rallied for a high standard of design in Adelaide and now seeks your support to stand again for Council in order to save Adelaide’s presently unprotected character buildings and tourist appeal. Sandy believes Adelaide should capitalise on its historic assets, for the benefit of his children and all who call Adelaide home. He is also on the National Trust Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee.
Getting the most out of the old and the new together epitomises my approach to architecture and planning.
